Employers and eager job seekers gathered at the Pike County Public Library on April 4, 2026, for a successful Job Fair aimed at connecting local talent with regional employment opportunities.
The event was hosted by Big Sandy Area Community Action Program, Kentucky Career Center, and Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc., bringing together key workforce development partners dedicated to supporting economic growth in Eastern Kentucky.
The Job Fair provided individuals seeking new employment with valuable opportunity to engage in face-to-face interactions with employers, participate in in-person interviews, and explore a wide range of career paths.
A total of 124 local residents attended the event, along with around 30 companies from across the region seeking motivated new employees. Participating employers represented a variety of industries, including health care, construction, retail, protective services, and transportation.
The event proved to be highly productive, with approximately nine individuals hired on the spot and an additional 44 attendees completing interviews with prospective employers.
