The Community Services Block Grant utilizes a network of Community Action Agencies (CAA) to support efforts to identify, reduce, or eliminate the causes of poverty and to help solve problems that block the achievement of economic self-sufficiency.
The Big Sandy Area has benefited from the Head Start program for over 40 years and children continue to receive a valuable early childhood foundation and develop school readiness in our 63 center-based classrooms each year.
The Tenant Based Rental Assistance and Weatherization Assistance Programs provide needed assistance to help our community turn housing in homes.
