The annual Martin County Community Health Fair presented by Big Sandy Area Community Action Program and sponsored by Passport Health Plan will be held on Thursday, August 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Roy F. Collier Community Center Gymnasium, Inez.
The event is free and open to the public and will offer everyone the chance to connect with area healthcare providers and programs. In addition to healthcare information, there will be free health screenings, outreach materials, giveaways, and a variety of fantastic door prizes.
Big Sandy Area Community Action Program representatives will be on hand to help visitors learn more about their employment and training services for people of all ages, their Weatherization Assistance program, Garden Seed program, and host of other services aimed at helping eastern Kentuckians achieve self-sufficiency.
The gymnasium will be filled with dedicated health care professionals who will be offering services and information such as mini massages, A1C screenings, blood pressure screenings, grip strength tests, information on mental health, physical therapy, kidney disease, child protection, hospice care, and much more.
Visitors can connect with service groups including Passport Health Plan, Martin Co. Home Health, Big Sandy Diabetes Coalition, Big Sandy Health Care, Judi’s Place for Kids, Appalachian Hospice Care, Mountain Comprehensive Care, the Center for Children with Special Health Care Needs, and many others.
