Employment and Training Services  

Big Sandy Area Community Action Program offers comprehensive job seeker services brought to you through the work of highly-trained Career Advisors who are ready to work with you, one-on-one, to achieve your employment goals. Through Employment and Training Services, we can help you start a new job or career, get the training or education you need, advance your career, understand the job market, and much, much more.
Services are open to all adults age 18+ regardless of income or employment status. Special services are available to people who have been laid off.

Services include:

  • Job search and placement
  • Resume preparation
  • On-the-job training
  • Job Club
  • Skills assessments
  • Information about in-demand jobs
  • Student financial aid assistance
  • Connections to vocational rehabilitation, GED classes, certificate and degree programs

Big Sandy Area Community Action Program offers employment and training services to Adult, Laid Off, and Dislocated workers through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act in Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Martin, and Pike counties. Funding for the Adult and Dislocated Workers Services is made possible by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 and the U.S. Department of Labor through the Department of Training and Re-Employment and the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc. (EKCEP).
